Many VIP guests in HamburgOMEGA celebrates the inauguration of its latest Flagship Store
One hundred guests attended a champagne reception to mark the opening of the first OMEGA Flagship Store in Germany. OMEGA President Stephen Urquhart arrived from the company headquarters in Switzerland to attend the event and he and the OMEGA brand manager for Germany, Marco Beltrami, welcomed the VIP guests, including TV newsreader and watch fan Jan Hofer, society lady Conny Modauer, real estate agent Hannelaure Cobet and celebrity twins Matthias and Stephan Glage.
The guests were able to view the exclusive exhibition of historical timepieces on loan from the OMEGA Museum in Bienne for one week only from 31 October until 8 November 2003 – a tribute to the rich history of this watch manufacturer. This extraordinary collection includes "The Premonition of the Drawers" created by the great master of fantastic surrealism Salvador Dali, in 1973. This is the fifth in a series of eight such complex and vaguely menacing bronze forms based on a 1934 pencil sketch of a semi-reclining female figure with a number of partly open drawers, her throat and neck covered by her long hair. The head consists of an OMEGA electronic watch. The white Roman numeral dial with stick hands (special version) covers a "mouse" sonic resonator calibre 1220 whose case is held at the top by a single screw-in Catalan bean.
OMEGA was delighted to mark the opening of the Flagship Store by offering guests this opportunity to view pieces from its glorious history of watchmaking. The stylish environment of the new store provided the ideal backdrop to showcase the pieces. This exhibition can be seen from 31 October until 8 November 2003 at the OMEGA flagship store, Neuer Wall 2-6 (Monday to Friday from 10am to 7pm, Saturday from 10am to 6pm).
